The Winmalee Cup is an exciting event in Ellison's sporting calendar and the students are always proud to represent their school. The students participating always display excellent teamwork and sportsmanship.

The competition is for netball and soccer and is played at Penrith.

Winmalee Cup 2019

The Winmalee Cup gala day took place on Monday 3rd June. I congratulate all of our students on their outstanding behaviour. Our teams fared well.
The Junior Soccer team played six games winning one, drawing four and losing one game. They were placed fourth in the competition. They competed strongly in every match played.

The Senior Soccer Team were looking really good until the final match when sheer tiredness resulted in a 2-0 loss. It was their only loss and they were placed third. They would have been equal first had they won the final match.

Both netball teams tried hard and showed fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship but came up against strong opposition. This did not deter them from developing their skills, showing true sportsmanship and having fun.

I thank our coaches Kayley Flint, Mrs McMahon, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Weir and Mr Cusack for their hard work in preparing teams and coaching them on the day. Your efforts are very much appreciated!
