Our school Athletics Carnival was held on Friday 26th July. After a night of rain, it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day.

In June, twenty-one of our students took part in the 1500m event for the Zone Carnival and what amazing results were achieved with six students now representing Blue Mountains Zone in this event at the Regional Athletics Carnival. Finishing first were Finlay O’Connell, Elyse Walker, Luke Walker and Alexa Lancaster. Second placed were Addison Scott and Cooper Babbage,

Ellison wins Zone Athletics
On Thursday 29th August, 36 of our students competed at the Zone Athletics Carnival at Blacktown. Of these 36 students, 20 now go onto the Regional Carnival.

What a great result with Ellison winning the carnival overall.  

Ellison 376 points, Glenbrook 360 and Springwood 329.

Congratulations to all our students who competed at the Sydney West Regional  Athletics Carnival on Thursday 12th October. They all showed wonderful sportsmanship and many PB’s were recorded.

Congratulations to our Junior Relay Team of Hollie Loudon, Alexa Lancaster, Addison Scott and Emilie Neuhof who won both their heat and final and will now go on to the State Carnival later this month.

Congratulations to Finlay O’Connell 800m, Elsye Walker 1500m and Addison Scott 200m who will also be competing at the State Carnival in individual events.

In the combined teams score for the Blue Mountains, Ellison was second behind Glenbrook and overall were placed 13th out of 143 schools. What a great achievement.

On Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th October, our six athletes competed at the NSWPSSA State Carnival. Addison Scott, Elyse Walker and Finlay O’Connell enjoyed the experience competing at such a high level in individual events and all ran well.

Our Girls Junior Relay Team of Hollie Loudon, Alexa Lancaster, Emilie Neuhof and Addison Scott progressed through heats to semis and onto the final where they were placed 6th in the State. Every race they improved on their previous time and took nearly two seconds off their regional winning time. The State Carnival was streamed live and many staff and students were able to watch our athletes and cheer them on.
